A place where you can give birth safely and responsibly in a relaxed environment
The Netherlands has a unique maternity care system in which healthy pregnant women can choose to give birth at home, in a birth centre or in a hospital. Sometimes a home birth isn’t possible or isn’t what you want. Perhaps your home is unsuitable due to a move or renovation, or because an ambulance would have difficulty reaching you if care becomes medical. In all cases, you are very welcome at one of the locations of Bevalcentrum EVAA Amsterdam.
Each location offers an intimate and calm atmosphere, allowing you to give birth in a relaxed way with your own midwife. We provide a range of birthing stools, (birthing) pools and balls, aromatherapy, medical equipment when needed, and an experienced maternity care assistant who will support you as much as necessary from the moment you arrive. We also offer nitrous oxide as an option for pain relief during labour.
